“Wellness Ambassadors” introduced at Abu Dhabi airport as a part of COVID-19 fight

Combating coronavirus: 'Wellness ambassadors' introduced at Abu Dhabi airport

On Tuesday authorities announced that travelers will be witnessing “wellness ambassadors” who are stationed at the Abu Dhabi International Airport (AUH). This is to bring ease and support to travelers flying through AUH.

The AUH’s new ‘wellness ambassadors’ are all specially trained service professionals who would be readily available to help passengers regarding any query or support needed – common questions being answered regarding safety from Covid-19 while travelling, handing over the masks, gloves and sanitizers – all things would be taken care of by the ambassadors.

Mohammed Husain Ahmed, General Manager of AUH said, “The ambassadors will ensure every traveler feels cared for and comfortable at Abu Dhabi International Airport.”

The team of wellness ambassadors will also check that all the passengers are compliant with all safety guidelines and regulations that are issued by the UAE Government and International Air Transport Association (IATA) required for keeping a curb on the Covid-19 infection spread.

The team of ambassadors will also be reminding people at airport to maintain social distancing at all times and ensure proper sanitization of all surfaces. They will be the go-to experts when it comes to testing and isolation process.

This fresh initiation is an extension of safety solution released by the AUH recently. These include touchless elevators and sterilization booths, which take just 3 seconds to disinfect a person. New technologies employed by the airport also include artificial intelligence-powered thermal scanners, facial recognition cameras and heat motion sensors.
