Sheikh Rashid bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, President of the UAE Football Association (UAEFA) was recently given the COVID-19 vaccine, in line with the UAE’s ongoing efforts to develop an effective vaccine against the virus.

Sheikh Rashid bin Humaid received the medication in a bid to support the national vaccination programme that is undergoing across the country with the aim to combat the spread of the virus.

While participating in the trial vaccine initiative, he expressed pride in the efforts of the healthcare sector in the country and lauded the well-planned response of the UAE leadership against the COVID-19 pandemic.

He also hailed the UAE’s support to the efforts of the international community towards developing a potential vaccine against COVID-19.

Sheikh Rashid went on to appeal all athletes in the country to use their capacities as role models and take the vaccine with the aim of protecting themselves, their colleagues, their families, their friends and other members of the community.
