In a significant development, Germany has eased restrictions on travellers from the UAE and Bahrain. As per latest updates, the UAE and Bahrain has been added to Germany’s safe list, alongside Kuwait, Qatar and Saudi Arabia. With the updated protocols, passengers above the age of 12 years can enter Germany, regardless of their vaccination status.

However, they are required to present a negative PCR test taken within 72 hours of travel along with a valid vaccination certificate or proof of recovery from COVID-19.

Yamina Sofo, director of sales and marketing for the German National Tourist Board, hailed the new travel regulations for GCC visitors, noting that it will make travel to Germany easier and more appealing for travellers.

“The winter season remains an important travel period for Germany, and this news will support regional travellers’ interest in exploring the array of festive seasonal markets, spa and wellness retreats, and outdoor sporting activities across Germany," Sofo added,

Significantly, EU authorities and member states are reviewing and revising the safe travel list every two weeks to ensure easing of restrictions while keeping the health and wellbeing of travellers in mind.

In Germany, cities like Berlin, Munich and Frankfurt have become major travel hub for international passengers. People can explore culture, art and history in Berlin while small cities like the Rhine Valley provides the experiences of the country’s beaches, island-hoping and trekking over chalk cliffs and open heaths.

UAE's leading airline Etihad is operating regular flights to Germany from Abu Dhabi. The national airline of the country is also operating flights from the UAE to Munich and Frankfurt. At the same time, Emirates is flying passengers from Dubai to German cities of Dusseldorf, Hamburg, Frankfurt and Munich.
