UAE tops Bloomberg ranking as most COVID-19 resilient country

Uae Tops Bloomberg Ranking As Most Covid19 Resilient Country

The UAE has been placed at the top spot in the latest COVID-19 global resilience ranking issued by Bloomberg News. Sharing the dais with Finland and Chile among other leading countries, the UAE achieved recognition due to its high vaccination rates and increased tourism efforts among other key factors.

Ireland, Spain and Turkey are also among the top-ranking nations in terms of their handling of the COVID-19 pandemic. Meanwhile, Ireland fell three places to fourth after COVID-19 infections in the country surged to 2,418 per 100,000 last month.

In the Bloomberg Covid Resilience Ranking, the Emirates has jumped from third place last month to the first position. Since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, the UAE has shown proactive performance in its fight against the crisis. From the systematic organisation of the vaccination drive to stringent precautionary measures, the UAE left no stones unturned to ensure the safety and security of the community members.

Over the past few months, the UAE has witnessed less than 100 cases in terms of daily count. Furthermore, there has been a significant decline in COVID-19 related deaths in the country.

In addition, more than 90 percent of the country's eligible population has received both doses of the vaccination, with 100 percent of people taking at least one dose. In view of these efforts, the UAE authorities have eased a number of restrictions across the emirates to facilitate the return of normalcy.

However, amid the rise of concerns due to the Omicron COVID-19 variant, UAE authorities have called on the public to continue compliance with the safety precautions to completely eliminate the impact of the pandemic.
