UAE to witness growth and development of Motorsport, health and fitness

Abu Dhabi Motorsports Management (ADMM) and Abu Dhabi Sports Council (ADSC) have signed two agreements with the aim of strengthening their long-standing relationship in the field of motorsport as well as health and fitness in the capital and the UAE.

As part of the agreement, ADMM and ADSC will be focusing on their cooperation and investment to boost the field of motorsport as well as health and fitness communities in the UAE. The entities will also bring new major events to Abu Dhabi to strengthen participation opportunities and support the development of grassroots and community initiatives held at the iconic Yas Marina Circuit.

Across motorsports, the new agreement will witness Abu Dhabi Sports Council and Abu Dhabi Motorsport Management working together to boost ADMM's position as a leader in the field. In 2021, Yas Marina Circuit saw more than 1,600 individuals and over 60 teams competing across the year. These teams participated across multiple disciplines including karting, drift, drag and circuit racing during the event.

Young drivers

The agreement will also support the development of young drivers and provide them with new platforms in the future. These platforms will allow young Emirati and UAE resident motorsport drivers access to grassroots and competitive driving opportunities. Young talent will be given the necessary aid to participate and compete at the highest levels of motorsports in local, regional, and international sections.

At the same time, the renewed agreement across health and fitness will witness ADSC continue its position as a Presenting Partner with the aim of building and developing the Health and Fitness community across the UAE.

This partnership will strengthen Yas Marina Circuit’s position as a hub for the Health and Fitness community in Abu Dhabi through the ADNOC TrainYAS programme and ADNOC TrainYAS Ladies. These programmes are organised by Abu Dhabi Sports Council to provide a safe, supportive environment to exercise for all.

Running till 2023, the new agreement will maintain the long-standing commitment between the entities to advance the development of a healthier and more active population across the nation.

Speaking about the partnership, Saif Al Noaimi, CEO of Abu Dhabi Motorsport Management, hailed it as an important day celebrating the deepening of the partnership with Abu Dhabi Sports Council to develop the growth of Motorsport and Fitness communities in the United Arab Emirates.

"Our vision to develop the highest level of motorsport competition across all disciplines from circuit racing through to, drag, drift and karting in our nation and our capital of Abu Dhabi will be boosted with this new agreement. It will help build on our ongoing work and bring more motorsports events to the iconic Yas Marina Circuit, developing local participation opportunities across age groups and levels. The existing partnership as Official Presenting Partner of TrainYAS and TrainYAS Ladies has seen great success in recent years, engaging with the local community on Yas Island and across Abu Dhabi through our ADNOC TrainYas; this has evolved further with our ADNOC TrainYAS Ladies Presented by Abu Dhabi Sports Council," Al Noaimi added.

The CEO underlined the need for encouraging people of all age groups to exercise in a safe and supportive environment. Al Noaimi further expressed hope towards bringing the highest standards to support the local motorsport and fitness communities in the UAE in partnership with Abu Dhabi Sports Council in the near future.

'Great pride'

Aref Al Awani, General Secretary of Abu Dhabi Sports Council, noted that signing of the agreement with Abu Dhabi Motorsport Management is a moment of great pride for the entities to support the growth of the UAE as an innovative leader in local, regional and International Motorsport.

"We have seen strong growth in the participation levels across local motorsports from our young Emirati drivers from karting through to Formula 3, and it is our ambition over the coming years to see exciting, young and local talent compete at the highest levels of international motorsport," Al Awani added.

TrainYas and TrainYas Ladies have been making great progress in bringing innovative, new health and fitness activities in the city.

Al Awani further expressed pride in playing a crucial role in the positive advancement of the UAE population's health. Al Awani also thanked Abu Dhabi Motorsport Management for their efforts in facilitating the growth of local motorsport and fitness communities in the UAE.
