UAE schools reopen: Remote working for mothers whose kids opted for e-learning

UAE announces work from home policy for mothers as schools reopen

With schools in the UAE preparing for a new academic year 2020-2021, the Federal Authority for Government and Human Resources (FAHR) recently announced new policies for mothers with children in grade six and below and for those with children of determination. As per a report by state news agency WAM, the FAHR has allowed the facility of remote working for mothers whose children are in grade six and below and for those who have children with disabilities.

This directive will help the mothers whose children are enrolled in online learning for the first semester of the new school year. By working from home, mothers will be able to monitor and take care of their children as they attend online learning classes.

This decision has been issued by the authorities based on the UAE Cabinet Resolution No. 27 of 2020 in a bid to support working mothers to effectively maintain a balance between meeting business requirements and helping their families at home. It will help them to fulfill the requirements of their children during e-learning classes in the aftermath of Coronavirus pandemic. Furthermore, this decision is in line with the directives of the UAE leadership to support the education drive across the country.
