The number of active infections has also reduced to 42,624 in an encouraging sign towards positive recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic. Daily recoveries have also exceeded new infections in recent weeks.

The latest daily infections have been detected due to an additional 420,289 PCR tests conducted across the country with the aim of curbing the spread of the virus.

So far, UAE's health sector has conducted more than 138 million COVID-19 PCR tests in the country. This effective mass screening strategy has been crucial in the UAE's successful fight against the pandemic crisis.

Meanwhile, Abu Dhabi authorities have reduced the cost of PCR Testing to Dh40 across the emirate. Taking to Instagram, the Department of Health Abu Dhabi announced the decision, noting that the new cost will be effective from Tuesday.

Since the start of the pandemic, the price of PCR testing has been reduced consistently from the initial cost of Dh370 to the latest Dh40 in order to allow all people to get themselves tested for COVID-19.

In addition, UAE authorities continue to administer COVID-19 vaccines and booster doses to all eligible community members as part of the robust nationwide vaccination campaign aimed at enhancing public immunity against the virus.

With the UAE authorities continue to ease pandemic-related restrictions across the country, community members have been urged to continue compliance with safety measures to limit the spread of the virus.
