UAE Philippines-Dubai flights to stay suspended until August 31

Filipino authorities have confirmed that the ban on travel from the UAE to the Philippines has been extended until Tuesday, August 31, to control the spread of the Covid-19 delta variant.

A statement from Filipino carrier Cebu Pacific said: "Cebu Pacific has cancelled its flights to and from Dubai from August 1 until 31, 2021, to ensure that its operations restart smoothly and safely. This schedule realignment is geared toward avoiding any last-minute changes that could cause inconvenience to our passengers."

A UAE spokesperson of PAL said: "We have an instinctive feeling the government will extend the flight suspension till the end of the month. We assume this would be the case as Manila is in semi-lockdown till August 20." The spokesperson said the airline decided to issue this date to avoid inconvenience and confusion among passengers.

Passengers who have transited through the UAE or any other country 14 days before their arrival in the Philippines will also be denied entry.
