Dr Yousef Mohammed Al Serkal, Director-General of the Emirates Health Services (EHS), said the UAE's celebrates World Humanitarian Day when it has strengthened its position as a global leader in humanitarian giving, philanthropy and developmental work.

This aligns with the country's vision to empower societies and enhance their quality of life within the notions of sustainability and development innovatively. Furthermore, It is a reflection of the human values deeply rooted in UAE's society.

Al Serkal remarked that the UAE has its enduring mark and global presence in humanitarian work, guided by the values and approach of the late founding father, Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, Who established a pioneering school in humanitarian action in the UAE until it became a crucial pillar in the global humanitarian ecosystem.

Al Serkal acknowledged that the exceptional circumstances caused by the COVID-19 pandemic highlighted the UAE's leading position as a beacon of hope, formulating the innovation process in humanitarian work and launching quality initiatives through its institutions, projects, and programmes that answer humanitarian needs.

The UAE has advanced beyond its borders by extending aid to the needy and affected people globally until it became a role model in humanitarian giving.

Al Serkal said in conclusion that with its exemplary record of accomplishments, the UAE is enthusiastic about strengthening its position on the map of humanitarian work regionally and globally and remaining at the top of the humanitarian landscape worldwide.
