The UAE marked the International Day of Happiness on March 20 by celebrating the achievements and gains that helped in enhancing the happiness of the entire society. As part of the celebration, Minister of Health and Prevention (MoHAP) stressed the need for necessary efforts to achieve the best quality of life for all.

MOHAP said that the efforts are made in line with the vision of the UAE's wise leadership which strongly believes that the happiness of individuals and society as well as stability of citizens and residents are the ultimate goal of the UAE government's activities.

"With that in mind, the UAE aspires to maintain its leading position among the happiest countries in the world and a favoured destination for living and well-being," the MOHAP added.

Marking the International Day of Happiness, the UAE continues to strengthen its position in many global indicators in terms of ensuring happiness and wellbeing for its community members. According to World Happiness Report 2021, the UAE has maintained its first place among the Arab countries for the seventh consecutive year. Furthermore, the country continues to maintain its upward trend in the results of the happiness indicators.

Such indicators are important reflectors of the UAE government's commitment to promote happiness and wellbeing of its citizens as a way of life and governmental approach. At the same time, UAE's continuous efforts make it a global destination for happiness, in accordance with its aspirations for the next fifty years and the UAE Centennial 2071, the ministry added.

The ministry also explained its strategy aimed at promoting a culture of happiness and positivity among its society. The ministry is working on various initiatives to spread happiness in an innovative concept in accordance with international best practices to promote community health. As part of these initiatives, the ministry will be leveraging the latest technologies and innovations in health services such as artificial intelligence, virtual and augmented reality, block-chain and big data.

In conclusion, the MOHAP said it is also adopting the best practices and global administrative systems to meet the needs of customers in line with the strategic indicators to enhance the happiness rate of customers and boost their wellbeing.
