The UAE authorities are ensuring all possible measures to strengthen the vaccination drive in the country along with the provision of booster doses against COVID-19 to eligible community members.

However, amid concerns over new variants of COVID-19, the authorities have called on the community to follow a detailed and cautious approach to minimise health risks.

In this regard, the Dubai Health Authorities have issued updated travel advisory underlining important safety precautions for people to follow before, during and after their travel.

Here are the 19 tips for people to comply with to remain healthy and enjoy the holiday season with maximum safety.

 

Before travel:

· Ensure to receive both doses of COVID-19 vaccine.

· Choose a destination at lower COVID-19 risk

· Book an appointment at the Traveler’s Clinic to know about the prospective risks in your chose destination. The clinic will provide relevant information about any infectious disease, health system, level of security, COVID-19 cases among other things to keep passengers safe and healthy

· Stay updated about the regulations and protocols of destination country

· Consult physician regarding any health concerns and conduct a thorough evaluation of your health

· Keep enough stock of protective kit including sanitiser and face masks

· Choose a hotel that is complying with all safety measures and precautions

· Eligible people must take their COVId-19 vaccine booster dose

· Also, get a seasonal Influenza vaccine two weeks before travelling

 

During travel:

· Wear face masks all the time and in correct way.

· Follow all precautionary measures in public areas

· Avoid crowded places

· Avid touching your eyes, nose and mouth without washing your hands

· Ensure that your hotel is adhering to all precautionary measures

· Isolate yourself and get medical support in case of any fever or respiratory symptoms

 

After travel:

· Stay updated with all regulations and procedures of the country and destinations in terms of vaccination, testing and quarantine requirements.

· If case of any symptoms after arrival at your destination, isolate yourself and conduct a PCR test

· Be careful while talking with people who are not vaccinated or under high-risk category
