Uae Airline Cancels Walk In Interviews In View Of Covid 19 Safety

Leading UAE airline was forced to cancel its walk-in interview drive on October 11 in view of COVID-19 safety. According to reports, thousands of job seekers reached the site of interview at Holiday Inn at Bur Dubai and crowded around the hotel. Job-seekers started queuing up outside the hotel before 7 am itself for the interviews.

Seeing the large number of job-seekers, the airline authorities decided to cancel the walk-in interview to ensure COVID-19 safety in the hotel and nearby areas. Photos and videos went viral on social media showing massive number of people gathering at the hotel to give interviews.

Reportedly, the airline was aiming to recruit 500 customer service agents through the walk-in campaign.

The authorities had maintained maximum standard of safety during the interview drive. In order to ensure safety of all people present at the hotel, the organisers also called in the job-seekers to strictly follow health regulations during the campaign. They were asked to wear face masks and maintain necessary physical distancing at all times at the interview venue.

As per the airline’s statement, selected candidates will receive nearly Dh5,000 monthly salary plus transport allowance. The airline is seeking candidate with more than two years of experience in the customer service industry, excellent sales skills, along with fluency in written and spoken English. Spoken Arabic language skills will be an added advantage for the candidates.
