The Emirates Red Crescent Organization appreciated the value of volunteer groups that support government efforts to combat the Covid-19 virus.

Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Representative of the Ruler in the Al-Dafra region, Chairman of the Red Crescent of the Emirates, is closely following the efforts made by ERC volunteer groups in these difficult and exceptional circumstances, supporting their noble goals.

The role of ERC volunteers begins with the reception of those who come from abroad, and then they are escorted to quarantine centers, providing proper support. ERC teams work in collaboration with the National Emergency and Crisis and Natural Disaster Management Authority and in coordination with other humanitarian societies and organizations active in the country.

In the field of healthcare, volunteers participate in the National Disinfection Program and assist in the distribution of medical packages in collaboration with the Ministry of Health and Prevention. They support the distance learning program by submitting study guides for students through the Ministry of Education for the distance education platform. In addition, they distribute packages to target groups to avoid overcrowding in the current environment.
