Special Committee Reviews Quick Recovery Status Of Pandemic In UAE

The second meeting of the Covid-19 Crisis Recovery Management and Governance Committee was conducted, with the aim of following up the development of work related to the tasks of the Committee.

The meeting was presided over by Dr. Sultan Bin Ahmed Al Jaber, Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology. Addressing the leadership of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, and H.H. Sheikh Tahnoun bin Zayed Al Nahyan, National Security Adviser, Dr. Jaber said that, “today we have a platform for action. Such action at the national level for all institutions, entities and individuals helps address important aspects like how to address the repercussions of the COVID-19 pandemic, how to protect the health and safety of society, and how to start working proactively in preparation for the recovery phase in various sectors. We can now also address how to focus on exploring future opportunities and strengthening the leadership position of the UAE in various fields."

Addressing the virtual meeting, he further said that the results achieved by the Committee's teams reflect their awareness of the importance of the tasks. He praised the great efforts committee members have made to ensure the success of the Committee's work noting the progress made so far, which reflects the distinct capabilities of the institutions and the relevant authorities in the country on coordination and strategic planning.

Strategy in in place where indicators have been put into action at all levels- society, security, health, education, food security and the economy. Further, in order to achieve these indicators, programmes and initiatives will also be developed to achieve these indicators and their targets. All this will be quantifiable that stresses the importance of the next phase, which will include the development of programmes according to the next stages, which are recovery, response and return of activities.

The timelines are being maintained due to the coordinated and united work amongst team members and various bodies supporting the committee. This shows the sense of responsibility that each one holds in ensuring the best possible recovery plan is in place to work out of the ill effects of the pandemic.
