Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed reaffirms UAE has overcome COVID-19 crisis

His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, has announced that the UAE has successfully overcome the COVID-19 pandemic and emerged stronger from the crisis. During Qasr Al Bahr Majlis, Sheikh Mohamed reaffirmed that the UAE learned various lessons and experiences in its fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.

“We overcome the COVID-19 crisis and emerged stronger. We learnt lessons and experiences. As life in the UAE has started to return to normal, we thank Allah,” he said.

He reassured that the country's current health situation is safe, adding that the efforts against the pandemic crisis helped the UAE in emerging stronger than ever before. Sheikh Mohamed’s significant message has come in view of the decreasing new cases of COVID-19 in the country since early August.

"2020 was a difficult year with great challenges. But the UAE, thanks God, was able to be one of the first countries to emerge from the crisis stronger at a time when some states have encountered major difficulties," he added.

Sheikh Mohamed named three factors that had paramount contributions to the return of normal life in the country - availability of multiple vaccines for free of cost, continuity of PCR testing and availability of state-of-the-art treatments in the UAE and other countries across the world.

He further underlined new infections in the UAE have declined to less than 500 cases which is an important indicator that Coronavirus is under control in the country and less dangerous than ever.

In conclusion, Sheikh Mohamed thanked all field and medical teams for their continuous efforts to control the pandemic and protect the health and wellbeing of all community members. He also lauded the response and cooperation shown by the community that helped in overcoming the crisis and reducing risks.
