Sharjah Issues Updated Covid 19 Safety Rules For Social Events

Sharjah’s Emergency Crisis and Disaster Management team has updated the precautionary measures implemented by the government to control the spread of COVID-19 in social events and gatherings.

As per the updated protocols, the number of attendees has been limited to 50 people at home gatherings and 100 people in public halls. It is important for attendees to maintain at least 4 meters social distancing during the event. Wedding tents have been allowed to set up with a maximum capacity of 200 people in compliance with necessary safety precautions and social distancing measures.

It is mandatory for all participants of social gatherings to be fully vaccinated and the green pass system must be activated on the Al Hosn app.

The Emirate’s management team has called on all citizens and residents to adhere to safety protocols including maintaining half capacity at each table in social events and limiting the duration of the ceremony to no more than four hours.

The team also urged the elderly, people with chronic diseases, and those experiencing any symptoms of COVID-19 illness not to attend the public events. It further underlined the need for community members to adhere to preventive measures such as wearing face masks, regularly sanitizing hands, avoiding hand-shaking and hugs, observing necessary physical distance between individuals in order to maintain the public health and safety.
