Sharjah’s Health Promotion Department (HPD) has been planning to organize the 8th edition of "My Health 2020" conference, from 24th to 26th November. The theme of this year’s conference would be "Health-promoting environment for children and adolescents during COVID-19". The key focus of the event would be to bring a healthy environment to children and adolescents. Wam reported that the conference would be held under the supervision of Sheikha Jawaher bint Mohammed Al Qasimi, wife of the Ruler of Sharjah and Chairperson of the Supreme Council for Family Affairs in Sharjah.

The conference, which would be focused around various stake holders, including children, parents, administrative and teaching staff, government departments, and education institutions, would discuss the ways in which the authorities and schools can work together to combat the future emergencies. The forum would talk about means to be adopted in order to prevent any disease or epidemic from breaking in the nation, and mainly to reflect on the lessons and experiences derived from the COVID-19 pandemic.

Iman Rashid Saif, Director of the Health Promotion Department, said, "The "My Health Conference" is in line with the directives of H.H. Dr. Sheikh Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, to invest in people and to achieve sustainable health as a key pillar to ensuring the well-being and happiness of community members."

"The success of the previous editions of the conference wouldn’t have been achieved without the unstinted support of Sheikha Jawaher Bint Mohammed Al Qasimi and her constant attention and guidance on the importance of caring for the health of children and adolescents, because investing in them is an investment in a bright future," Saif added.

The authorities said that the conference, which would be addressed by experts and specialists in various fields of childcare, would provide an avenue for parents and school staff to gather more awareness about creating a healthy environment.
