Seha Suspends Alhosn Green Pass Requirement For Patients Visitors

The Abu Dhabi Health Services Company (SEHA) issued a fresh COVID-19 related update, suspending its previous decision mandating patients and visitors to show a green status on their Al Hosn app to gain access to its healthcare facilities. According to a public notice issued by SEHA on Monday, the decision has been put on hold until further review.

"Therefore, the current visitation measures will remain unchanged until further notice,” SEHA added.

Earlier this week, the leading health authority in Abu Dhabi had made it mandatory for patients and visitors above 16 years of age to show the green pass on their Al Hosn app in order to access SEHA healthcare centres and facilities effective from Tuesday. Furthermore, the rule exempted visitors to emergency departments and drive-through testing facilities from the requirement.

According to the UAE authorities, the 'green status' or 'green pass' on the Al Hosn app means that an individual has received a negative COVID-19 PCR test result and it has a validity for 30 days.

On August 20, Abu Dhabi had permitted only those individuals vaccinated with UAE-approved vaccine and those holding a 'green status' on Al Hosn app for entry to public places.

In addition, the green pass system prohibits unvaccinated individuals from entering public places in Abu Dhabi such as shopping malls, restaurants, cafes, retail outlets, gyms, recreational facilities and sporting activities, health clubs, resorts and educational institutions.
