SEHA announces relocation of ‘Blue Zone’ to Al Rowda Healthcare Center

SEHA, Abu Dhabi Health Services Company, has announced that ‘Blue Zone’ is relocating from the Covid-19 Prime Assessment Center in Abu Dhabi to Al Rowda Healthcare Center. The center which is managed by Ambulatory Healthcare Services, a SEHA healthcare facility, will serve all community members who have tested positive for Covid-19.

The blue zone is one of four zones locates in Covid-19 Prime Assessment Center in Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC), which was launched in May 2020. The Covid-19 Prime Assessment Center is the first center to be dedicated to people with positive Covid-19 result. It has played a crucial role in curbing the virus spread and strengthening the healthcare infrastructure in Abu Dhabi by offering an easy and safe access to people for testing, medical assessment, and guidance by qualified medical professionals and volunteers.

In Al Rowda Healthcare Center patients come in when they test positive for Covid-19 and they get a message directing them to the center. On arriving they will be registered in SEHA’s electronic medical record, Salamtak, which will then be followed by a vital signs checkup and assessment. If the patients exhibit symptoms or have been in contact with a confirmed positive case, they will either be home quarantined on the electronic watch or will get transported to an isolation facility.

In case they are neither having symptoms nor have come in contact with a positive case, a nose swab will be conducted to confirm their infection. After this they will be sent home to follow home quarantine guidelines until they receive their result by SMS, SEHA app or the Hosn app. If the test result comes back as positive, they will have to go back to Al Rowda Healthcare Center where they will either be put on the electronic watch for home quarantine or will get transported to an isolation facility.

Al Rowda Healthcare Center is well equipped for conducting additional testing for high-risk patients, like people suffering from chronic diseases or senior citizens, or patients found unstable when visiting the center. These additional tests include ECG, blood tests, X-ray, and CT scan, which are followed by a doctor consultation to determine if they need to be transferred to a hospital.

Since the beginning of pandemic, SEHA has been leading the country’s fight against Covid-19, through establishment of drive-through centers, field hospitals, and launching initiatives to meet the needs of entire community, including virtual outpatient clinic and medication delivery services.
