Saudi Arabia’s decision of limited Hajj pilgrimage to residents & citizens of Kingdom welcomed by UAE

The UAE has welcomed the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s decision of limiting this year’s Hajj pilgrimage registration to citizens and residents of the Kingdom. The maximum number allowed is 60,000 pilgrims amid the COVID-19 pandemic. 

 

On Saturday, Khalifa Shaheen Al Marar, Minister of State, said that UAE has welcomed the decision by Kingdom and it supports all measures citing the pandemic and need to curb the spread of virus, thus ensuring safety and security of community and pilgrims. Al Marar lauded Saudi Arabia’s scientific progress against the pandemic. 

 

"The scientific achievements of Saudi Arabia recently testify to the importance the Kingdom attaches to science as the key driver in supporting healthcare and overcoming the major challenges from the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic," he added.
