Ruler Of Dubai Presides Over G20 Virtual Summit

Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum presided over the virtually conducted G20 Summit

Hosted by Saudi Arabia, the Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and the ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum presided over the virtually conducted G20 Summit recently.

Under the leadership of King Salman bin Abdul Aziz Al Saud of Saudi Arabia, he declared open the theme, “Realizing Opportunities of the 21st Century for All”.

Speaking over the summit, Mohammed bin Rashid has called for collective effort to tackle COVID-19 during G20 meeting. UAE wishes to play a crucial role in the coordination of joint efforts and promoting global cooperation to contain the pandemic. As a responsible nation, it also intends to mitigate its humanitarian, health and economic impact on people and nations all over the world.


Along with the other G20 nations, those participating also included heads of invited states and representatives of international organisations. These included Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO), the Financial Stability Board (FSB), the International Labour Organisation (ILO), the International Monetary Fund (IMF), the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD), the United Nations (UN), the World Bank Group (WBG), the World Health Organisation (WHO) and the World Trade Organisation (WTO).

Sheikh Mohammed was all praises for Saudi Arabia's presidency of the G20 Summit and applauded the great efforts it made, under the wise leadership of King Salman bin Abdul Aziz Al Saud, for organising the summit during these exceptional times.

Speaking over the importance of the G20 Summit, Sheikh Mohammed has placed utmost importance in its existence to overcome challenges like humanity faces today and wishes that nations can discuss ways to utilise resources and governments' potentials for a better future to the world.
