New York Times hails UAE's COVID-19 vaccination campaign

The UAE has administered over 11.9 million COVID-19 vaccine doses as part of its national campaign

America's leading newspaper the New York Times has lauded the UAE's ongoing national vaccination campaign aimed at combating the COVID-19 pandemic. In its recent issue, the newspaper published the latest classification which indicated that the United Arab Emirates has emerged at the top of the global ranking in terms of its vaccination rates amid the battle against the pandemic.

According to the newspaper, the UAE has administered approximately 121 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine for every 100 people in the country. The country has provided more than 11.9 million doses of the COVID-19 vaccine to the public since the launch of its national vaccination drive in December 2020. It further noted that the UAE is making noteworthy efforts in protecting its citizens and residents from the repercussions of the pandemic.

“Vaccination rates in the UAE exceeded 100,000 doses per day for most of the time," the paper added.
