Movement ban extended by one week intra-region in Abu Dhabi and cross-border in Emirates

Movement ban between regions within Abu Dhabi and in and out of the emirate extended by one week

Starting from June 9 there would be an extension of movement ban in Abu Dhabi. This was decided by Abu Dhabi Emergency, Crisis and Disaster Committee for the Covid-19 Pandemic, in conjunction with Abu Dhabi Police and DoH.

According to the ban there would be no movement allowed between Abu Dhabi’s regions including Abu Dhabi, Al Ain and Al Dhafra , and also no entry or exit across the Emirates borders. All Abu Dhabi residents along with UAE nationals would come under this ban implementation.

However, certain exemptions could be provided by special permit to employees in essential sectors, chronic disease patients who are visiting the hospitals and necessary goods transportation vehicles. These movements within every region would be allowed following the National Sterilisation Programme hours.

This ban extension has been aimed to increase efficacy of the National Screening Programme. This includes a series of many measures taken as precaution and prevention to minimize the contact, curb COVID-19 infection spread and protection of communities while prioritizing their health and safety.
