Mohamed bin Zayed visits leading Abu Dhabi Stem Cells Centre

During his visit, Sheikh Mohamed hailed the contributions of the centre's doctors and researchers

Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, Thursday visited the Abu Dhabi Stem Cells Centre (ADSCC).

ADSCC is an Abu Dhabi-based specialist healthcare center focusing on cell therapy and regenerative medicine. During Sheikh Mohamed's visit, ADSCC doctors and researchers explained the significant role played by the centre in strengthening the efforts of the UAE's health sector, particularly amid the ongoing fight against the COVID-19 pandemic. Doctors and researchers also shared the details related to the research being conducted by the centre to find therapies and advanced solutions for various diseases.

The Crown Prince observed ADSCC's clinical trial on its COVID-19 stem-cell treatment along with the clinical trials aimed at assessing innovative treatments for diabetes and multiple sclerosis.

Sheikh Mohamed extended gratitude towards the centre's doctors, researchers and all employees for their vital contributions and efforts to ensure the safety and wellbeing of all community members during the pandemic. He underlined the UAE leadership's priority to advancing the healthcare sector and developing the medical industries in line with its goal to lead the field globally.

Taking to Twitter, His Highness Sheikh Mohamed said that it was a pleasure to visit the Abu Dhabi Stem Cells Center and meet the team of exceptional doctors and researchers conducting key research for the advancement of society.

''It was a pleasure to meet the team of doctors and researchers at the Abu Dhabi Stem Cells Center who are carrying out advanced research. Their inspiring work is a key part of UAE efforts to offer medical expertise to help eradicate diseases and support human development worldwide,'' he tweeted.

He further stressed the UAE's commitment to strengthening partnerships and collaborations with advanced research centres, especially in the medical sector. He highlighted the UAE's dedication to sharing its knowledge and expertise with the aim of fostering human progress and providing necessary aid to all people who need it.

During the visit, Sheikh Mohamed was accompanied by Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan; Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Tahnoun Al Nahyan, Chairman of Abu Dhabi Airports; Mohamed Mubarak Al Mazrouei, Undersecretary of the Crown Prince Court of Abu Dhabi; and Ali Mohammed Al Shamsi, Deputy Secretary-General of the Supreme National Security Council.
