Land Ports In Uae Receive Oman Travelers

The UAE’s land ports are receiving travelers from Oman. This is after assessing verifying the preparedness of all port ensuring the implementation of precautionary measures to curb the spread of the coronavirus infection.

 

Khalifa Hamad Al Shamsi, Director of the Land Ports Department at the Public Authority for Security of Ports, Borders and Free Zones in the country, stressed the eagerness of UAE’s land ports to enable movement of passengers ensuring their safe passage.

 

He added that coordination with Oman was established to ensure smooth commercial movement of goods and passengers between land ports. He also urged travelers to follow required precautionary measures during journey and continue to follow the instructions issued by relevant authorities.

 

Lieutenant Colonel Saeed Hamad Al Rashidi, Director of the Land Ports Department at the Federal Authority for Identity and Citizenship (ICA), said, “The department’s proactive approach has reinforced its readiness to deal with the developing situation, highlighting its flexible operations that enable passage to and from the country.”

 

He added that passengers can travel after ensuring that they are meeting requirements adopted by the country, while affirming the ICA is supporting to help organise passengers flow under different scenarios, and noting that “passengers travelling through land ports will have a unified number enabling a smooth journey”.
