Khalifa Foundation and CSR UAE Fund provides benefit through Covid-19 initiative to over 395,000 people

The Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation is continuing to extend humanitarian aid through various COVID-19 initiatives. The initiatives have been launched by collaboration between the foundation and CSR UAE Fund. The campaign has received contributions in monetary and in-kind that include items that were subsequently distributed to beneficiaries. Foundation said on Monday that the items included distance learning supportive smart devices, urgent medical equipment for hospitals, and food hampers. The fund also provided support to small creative institutions which were adversely affected by the pandemic. The number of people benefited through foundation has reached over 395,000 across the Emirate. This includes 56,529 underprivileged families (with 4 to 12 members per family) in addition to more than 167,000 individuals, and also frontline workers and people who test positive for COVID-19. These initiatives are aimed to mitigate COVID-19 pandemic challenges faced sectors including medical, health and education.

The foundation with CSR UAE Fund has directed contributions from private sector towards priority projects on the fund’s smart platform (csruae.ae). These projects are as per the country's prime objectives listed by Ministry of Economy, Ministry of Community Development, Ministry of Health and Prevention Society, Ministry of Education and Ministry of Culture and Knowledge Development. This positive cooperation has led Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation to sign a strategic partnership with the fund for implementing UAE’s efforts enhancing efforts to tackle the coronavirus. The fund also has collaborated with its partners to raise community awareness, help families adopt the national sanitization and social distancing. These campaigns were “Stand up to the Challenge”, “Giving for Everyone” and the “National Creative Relief Programme”.

A guide has been launched by CSR UAE Fund to help businesses adapt the strategies in accordance to the current pandemic situation on www.csruae.ae/en/publications. The strategies include tips on how to engage with employees, community issues, and also ways to adopt various practices to help tackle the spread of coronavirus infection.

The COVID-19 IMPACT Framework has three focus areas primarily - workforce; community, and responsible practices for positive and healthy routines, responsible consumption and production, and environmental awareness.
