Five businesses fined, three issued warning by Dubai Economy for violating COVID-19 measures

Field inspection teams of the Commercial Compliance & Consumer Protection (CCCP) Sector in Dubai Economy on Tuesday conducted visits across shopping centres and open markets in the emirate. During the inspection, the CCCP teams fined five establishments over lack of commitment to wearing face masks among employees. In addition, three establishments warned issued a warning for violating the required COVID-19 precautionary guidelines. The CCCP inspection warned three establishments for not placing the required physical distancing stickers for public awareness.

The violating establishments were engaged in various activities such as retail, wholesale trading, textiles, fabrics and air-conditioning installation, located in Port Seed, Nadd Al Hammar, and Naif regions of the emirate.

During the inspection, a total of 680 shops and establishments were found to be fully complying with COVID-19 precautionary measures mandated by the authorities.

Meanwhile, Dubai Economy has urged the communities to cooperate and contribute to ensure that the emirate's economy continues to move forward amid the pandemic crisis. It is important to understand that compliance with COVID-19 precautionary measures is a crucial step to achieve the gradual resumption of normal and safe economic activities in Dubai, facilitating the reopening of businesses across all sectors in the emirate. Dubai Economy has also reminded that strict action will be taken against those found violating the precautionary measures during inspections or when reported by consumers and the public.
