Dubai’s Supreme Committee of Crisis and Disaster Management, under the leadership of Sheikh Mansour bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, has urged the community, along with public and private sector entities, to follow the necessary COVID-19 precautionary measures issued by the authorities to ensure maximum public safety.

The remarks came during a recent meeting of the Committee in which the members stressed the need for people to strictly follow the COVID-19 preventive measures.

During the meeting, the Committee also highlighted that its emphasis on the adherence to preventive measures is in line with the directives issued by the National Emergency Crisis and Disaster Management Authority (NCEMA) to ensure continuous efforts towards the commitment to combating the pandemic.

Addressing the meeting, Sheikh Mansour said that emphasis of Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, on the shared responsibility of the community is perfectly captured in his statement "Everyone is Responsible" which has played a crucial role in motivating the community to join hands towards the greater goal of combating the global health crisis.

He said that every member of the community is a partner in fighting the crisis, calling for continuous efforts with a strong commitment towards protecting ourselves and our loved ones which will help in overcoming the pandemic and avoiding any hurdles in the road to success.

"The health and wellbeing of the community is a great responsibility and they are our highest priorities. The leadership’s strategic objectives are driven by these goals. There will be no compromise. We will work relentlessly to fulfill this responsibility," Sheikh Mansour added.

He further noted that the Supreme Committee has been continuously working with the local and federal frontline authorities to ensure the health and safety of everyone in the community and intensify the progress to tackle the crisis.

The Supreme Committee went on to call upon the visitors to public places like malls, restaurants, commercial outlets and public indoor areas to diligently follow the required preventive measures designed by the Government of Dubai and its frontline authorities. Adhering to preventive and precautionary norms will help in achieving the broader goal of protecting the health and safety of the community.

In addition, the Committee notified that fines will be imposed according to the list of penalties in case any person is found violating the preventive guidelines issued by the UAE government. People seen not wearing a face mask inside public facilities, malls and restaurants will face penalties in accordance with the list as they are violating the rules specified by the authorities in line with the efforts to combat the pandemic.
