Owned by Dubai Ambulance Corporation, the world’s fastest ambulance 'Lykan HyperSport' has set a Guinness record. The ambulance is manufactured in the UAE by W Motors. It was unveiled at Expo 2020 Dubai in January this year.
It is one of the only seven Lykan HyperSport cars currently available in the world. The Dh13million HyperSport Responder was named the fastest first responder ambulance vehicle in service in the world. With an accelerating speed from zero to 100 kilometres an hour in 2.8 seconds, it can reach a top speed of 400 kph. It is powered by its twin-turbocharged 780-horsepower Porsche engine.
Furthermore, its LED headlights are studded with 440 diamonds. Talking about the interior, the car comes with a gold-plated internal roof and the inside of the vehicle is upholstered in gold-stitched leather.
With a carbon-fibre body, the car is equipped with a 3D holographic mid-air display.
Khalifa bin Darrai, chief executive of the Dubai Corporation for Ambulance Services, underlined that Dubai Ambulance will continue to develop services and implement initiatives to enhance the safety and wellbeing of community members as well as to meet aspirations of the government in achieving leading global positions in all fields. Dubai Ambulance will thrive to make Dubai the best city to live in the world, he added.
He affirmed that the latest achievement will raise the bar for international competition in emergency medicine services. A 4x4 ambulance, Lykan HyperSport is a part of DCAS fleet of 331 vehicles which was launched during Arab Health 2022.
On Monday, the vehicle was added to the Guinness World Records. It is also the largest desert rescue ambulance in service. Its makers have designed it specifically for ease of access in deserts and mountains where normal ambulances face difficulty during emergencies.
The Guinness World Records committee awarded the certificate to the vehicle at the headquarters of Dubai Ambulance.
