Dubai Police urge public to follow precautions during Eid Al Fitr

Dubai Police extended congratulatory wishes to all community members on the occasion of Eid Al Fitr

On the occasion of Eid Al Fitr, the Dubai Police General Command extended warm congratulations to President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces along with Supreme Council Members, Rulers of the Emirates, Deputy Rulers, Crown Princes and all UAE citizens and residents.

Issuing a statement on the occasion, Lieutenant-General Abdullah Khalifa Al Marri, Commander-in-chief of Dubai Police, urged all members of the community to adhere to precautionary measures during Eid holidays while visiting tourist places, beaches and commercial centres in order to curb the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic. Al Marri called on the public to wear masks and maintain physical distancing in public places during the festive celebrations.

He underlined the Dubai Police have intensified their preparedness to secure Eid Al Fitr celebrations and patrol all internal and external roads, markets, commercial sectors and other areas of intense congestion across the emirate.

He further advised motorists across the region to drive safely and refrain from violating rules and regulations, including speeding, overtaking, and reckless driving. He also urged all members of the public to stay informed about the latest safety rules and regulations as well as traffic updates issued regularly by the Dubai Police through its smart app and social media accounts.

Al Marri called on parents to monitor the activities of their children during the occasion and inform them about not accepting Ediya from strangers. Wishing them a happy and safe Eid, he urged the public to comply with safety and security protocols at homes to protect themselves and their near and dear ones.
