Dubai issues new COVID-19 rules for weddings, social events

Amid the ongoing efforts to contain the spread of Coronavirus in the emirate, Dubai’s Supreme Committee of Crisis and Disaster Management on Friday issued new directives for wedding gatherings and social events

As per new rules, a maximum of 10 people would be allowed to gather for social gatherings such as weddings and private parties. The committee also said that attendees must be limited to first-degree relatives in order to cap the number of guests at the event. Attendees have been asked to comply with necessary preventive measures aimed at reducing the spread of COVID-19, including maintaining physical distancing during the event.

These new rules will apply to all social events taking place at home or a hotel. According to the committee, the new rule will come into effect from January 27.
