Drive through coronavirus tests to be conducted near the screening centres at AED180

New coronavirus testing centres have been announced by the Capital Health Screening Centre which will essentially be performing a drive-through coronavirus test that will cost AED180.

These cantres will be opened at Al Muroor, Abu Dhabi. The testing centre will reportedly be located close to the Capital Health Screening Centre at the Al Jazeera sports club.

The samples which will be taken from the drive through test will be taken at the facilities National Reference Laboratory, NRL.

"The new testing centre will benefit from the experiences acquired from previous COVID-19 tests and will be open to the public, even to holders of tourist visas. We are cooperating with the NRL’s facilities to analyse the test samples and ensure accurate results," said Hassan Jassim Al Nowais, who is the senior Vice President of Mubadala Healthcare.

Al Nowais also added that Mubadala is very keen on supporting the government’s policies which are specifically aimed at enlarging the scope fo Covid-19 testings. He asserted that the launch of these new centres are a part of this effort only.

The Capital health Screening Centre is playing a major role in helping the government combat the danger of the virus. It is using its experience to support the national screening project in Mussafah. It also helps patients or potential patients by doing their test without prior booking and giving them results via SMS in a time duration of 24 hours to 48 hours.

As per the official information, the drive-through centre is scheduled to be open from Sunday to Thursday from 9:00 to 18:00

The United Arab Emirates has been taking all the necessary steps to control the spread of virus in the country by implementing a lot of schemes. For example it was recently reported that workers in cafes and restaurants will be tested every 14 days.

Apart from that, the vaccine that the country is planning to bring to use is already in its third phase of trial and will soon be available in the market after getting cleared by the health authorities. The vaccine has been made available to medical frontliners and a few minutes apart from being tested on volunteers.
