Dha Sets Up Post Covid Clinics In Two Health Centres In Dubai

The Dubai Health Authority (DHA) has established post-COVID-19 clinics at two of its health centres in Dubai. The clinics will operate every Tuesday at the Al Barsha Health Centre and every Thursday at the Nad Al Hammar Health Centre.

The clinics will assist patients in treating lingering symptoms of the disease, popularly known as "long-COVID". These symptoms can persist in an individual for 4 to 12 weeks after the onset of the illness. Currently, the service is not available for pregnant women and children under the age of six.

Dr. Hanan Al Hammadi, Family Medicine Consultant and Director of Medical Affairs at DHA’s Primary Health Care Sector, noted that post-COVID-19 clinics will support and assist those patients who are experiencing lingering symptoms weeks or months after recovering from Coronavirus illness. She explained that the clinics will conduct a thorough investigation, perform necessary tests and refer patients to specialists in case of specific medical intervention in areas like pulmonology, cardiology, mental health or neurology.

"The aim is to diagnose medical issues that need intervention and help the patient move towards a path of recovery and wellbeing," she added.

These clinics will be offering a comprehensive assessment conducted by medical specialists along with a wide range of diagnostic tests and treatments performed in accordance with specific post-COVID symptoms for every patient.

Patients can book an appointment through the DHA’s call centre 800 342. In addition, they can get a referral to the clinic from a doctor at any DHA hospital or DHA primary health centre. Telemedicine referral can be received from DHA’s doctor for Every Citizen service.
