DHA dedicates two health centres to treat COVID-19 patients

The Dubai Health Authority (DHA) has dedicated the Al Khawaneej and Al Badaa health centres for the treatment of COVID-19 infected patients. In a recent announcement, Dr Hanan Al Hammadi, Consultant and Director of the Medical Affairs Department at the DHA's Primary Health Care Services Sector, stated that the two centres will be catering to all COVID-19 positive patients who will be referred by the DHA Contact Centre and the COVID-19 Command and Control Centre.

She also noted that the health centres will work 24/7 to provide the necessary quality comprehensive healthcare services 24/7 to COVID-19 patients.

Dr. Al Hammadi later explained that doctors will evaluate every patient carefully and carry out significant tests to determine if the patient should be referred to a hospital or directed to home or institutional isolation for further treatment.

The healthcare centres have been equipped with state-of-the-art facilities and diagnostic machinery and qualified medical staff, she added. The DHA has ensured all possible efforts to uplift the level of operational efficiency in the health centres for the treatment of all patients.

Dr Al Hammadi said that the DHA has relocated Al Khawaneej Health Centre’s regular patients to Al Twar, Nad Al Hamr and Al Mizhar health centres in line with the Authority's keenness to strengthen the operational capacities of the facilities and ensure the continuation of quality medical services. At the same time, Al Badaa Health Centre's customers have been relocated to Al Mankhool and Barsha health centres.

Meanwhile, the DHA has urged the public to continue following the COVID-19 precautionary measures, such as wearing facemasks and maintaining physical distance, aimed at preventing the spread of the virus.

In addition, the DHA called on the targeted population to take the COVID-19 as part of the national vaccination drive. As of now, frontline workers in both private and public sectors, elderly people aged 60 and above, people with chronic diseases and people of determination are under the targeted population in the national COVID-19 vaccination drive.
