DEWA, first organization to receive the BSC COVID-19 Assurance Statement in Middle east

In a remarkable step towards ensuring covid security in the United Arab Emirates, the Dubai Electricity and Water Authority becomes the first organization to ensure the BSC COVID-19 Assurance Statement in the Middle East region. This achievement is the result of rigorous hard work in the auditing practice put in by the British Safety Council, BSC.

The British organisation extended its congratulations to DEWA as it said that the organization has made tremendous efforts in minimising the effects of the coronavirus pandemic throughout the workplace where it is installed and in the princess has also ensured proper conduct of the activities that were conducted by it.

But the process was not a one day task but it was actually a planned attempt executed by systematic approach and thorough research. The trust that BSC showed on the Dubai based organization is a result of its continuous efforts over the years where it has shown great agility while ensuring its progress without compromising on safety.

What rounded off the talks was the fact that DEWA scored 100 percent on its compliance in risk management and other measures to control the spread of the virus while not affecting the progress in such a way that keeps the virus transmission minimal.

Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD & CEO of DEWA further established the role the organization played in ensuring the safety of customers, employees, and partners at the ‘top of its priorities’.

“This is in line with the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, and H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of the Executive Council of Dubai. This statement from the British Safety Council is international recognition of DEWA’s outstanding approach in dealing with COVID-19 as part of its integrated strategy and the guidelines by the relevant authorities in the UAE and the Government of Dubai. In addition to the precautionary measures that DEWA implements across all its facilities according to the highest standards, we provide a helpline for staff, in cooperation with specialists and psychologists, to support the psychological wellbeing of employees and enhance their sense of security," said Al Tayer.

DEWA officials added that all the latest development and best suitable practices are well acquainted with the staff and the staff of its partner consultants, contractors and suppliers.
