All services of the Al Hosn app were restored by the UAE authorities on Saturday. Al Hosn is the official digital platform for COVID-19 testing and contact tracing in the UAE. The app experienced an outage on Thursday, following which the local authorities stated that some technical issues were required to be fixed.

On Friday, the Abu Dhabi Emergency, Crisis and Disasters Committee noted that it is working with Al Hosn's team to restore all services for its users after fixing some of the issues.

As per reports, Al Hosn saw a heavy surge in new subscriptions since the launch of the new 'green pass' feature on the app on Tuesday. After the outage, the authorities on Friday suspended the ‘green pass’ COVID-19 safe entry protocol to ensure public convenience.

The committee has confirmed that the green pass will be reinstated after completion of necessary updates on the app and maintaining the continuity of all its services for the users.

As per new guidelines, community members are not required to present a negative RT-PCR test result or vaccination proof to enter a majority of public places in the emirate. An RT-PCR negative result or vaccination proof was a mandatory requirement for Al Hosn's green pass.
