Covid-19: No ban on traveling from UAE to Scotland

Travel restrictions between Scotland and the United Arab Emirates have been lifted. The travel ban was announced to be lifted on Friday by the Abu Dhabi mission. Earlier a ban was imposed on travel between the two countries on January 29th.

The British authorities also made it clear through a tweet that the ban has been lifted. The tweet read, “From 4 am on 9th April, direct flights from the UAE to Scotland will no longer be prohibited.”

But other than Scotland, travel to other parts of Britain such as England, Wales, and the Northern Island is still prohibited. But keeping in mind that the United Kingdom has red-listed the UAE, Etihad airways have also commented on lifting the travel ban.

“The UAE is currently on the UK’s red list, which means that you will only be permitted to enter the UK from the UAE if you are a British or Irish national, or you have residence rights in the UK,” said the travel guidelines directed by the UAE’s Etihad Airways.

The UK has tough guidelines on visitors from the Emirati nation. The office of the UK’s foreign, commonwealth and development said that visitors who are coming from the UAE or are in transit through the Arab country for the last 10 days, will be refrained from entering the country.

Britain will be lifting the travel ban on May 17 as per the latest announcements from the British administration. It also said that it plans to restart travel by using a traffic light system
