COVID-19: Ajman authorities reduce timings for eateries

Amid the ongoing efforts against the COVID-19 pandemic, Ajman's Department of Economic Development has reduced the dine-in timings at cafés and restaurants across the emirate.

The department has directed all eateries to close down dine-in services by 12 midnight every day. However, they are allowed to provide home delivery services to their customers after midnight.

The department has stated that the decision was taken as a precautionary measure with the aim of containing the spread of the COVID-19 virus in the emirate. This new rule will come into effect from February 5.

The development has come days after Dubai authorities updated its COVID-19 safety measures. According to the new rules, eateries across the emirate have been asked to shut shop each day by 1 am. At the same time, pubs and bars across Dubai have been closed until February 28.

Meanwhile, more than 90 percent of Ajman Police officials have received the COVID-19 vaccine jab along with more than 600 of their family members. UAE's authorities have made all possible efforts to combat the spread of the virus and protect the community from the pandemic.
