COVID-19 aid: Ambassador of Azerbaijan thanks UAE for medical aid

Continuing the pioneering work in humanitarian aid by helping countries fight COVID-19 pandemic UAE had sent 11 metric tonnes of medical aid through an aid plane to Azerbaijan. Mahir Aliyev, the Ambassador of Azerbaijan conveyed his appreciation and thanked UAE for helping the country in its fight to curb pandemic spread.

This medical supplies aid is aimed to help over 11,000 medical professionals in the area who are tirelessly working to fight the crisis.

Ambassador Aliyev said in his statement, “Solidarity and cooperation among the world’s nations is the only way to overcome the impact of COVID-19 pandemic.”

UAE’s consistent humanitarian support to countries around the globe to help them fight the coronavirus was also appreciated by United Nations’ Resident Coordinator for the UAE, Dena Assaf.

The UAE has till date extended support to 67 countries sending them over 946 metric tonnes of medical supplies. Over 946,000 medical professionals were supported in this process.
