Coronavirus: Abu Dhabi launches circular of fines in case of breach of precautionary measures

As the world gets hit by the new wave of coronavirus and witnesses new surge in infection rate, Abu Dhabi launches a circular of huge penalties to keep people from violating covid-19 precautions. The new list of fines brought out by Human Resources Authority of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi is aimed at controlling the spread of covid-19 in the country.

The newly issued Circular No. (16) of 2020, has new guidelines for employees and their work protocols.

As per the new Covid-19 prevention guidelines, shaking hands has been forbidden. It said that in case any employee shook hands with others at the workplace he would be left with a warning for the first time, but would face one day’s salary cut if the violation is committed the second time, and three days’ salary, if it’s done for the third time.

Besides, it added that in order to prevent the virus infection at workplace, if any employee reached the workplace despite being suspected with the virus infection or COVID-19 symptoms, he would bear five days' salary cut for the first time, 10 days' salary the second time, and 15 days’ salary the third time.
