Children And Elderly Do Not Require A Appointment To Receive Covid 19 Vaccines Booster Shot Department Of Health Abu Dhabi

The Department of Health - Abu Dhabi (DoH) to provide COVID-19 vaccines for children, senior citizens and residents, and the essential booster dose without prior booking at all SEHA vaccination centres.

Dr Jamal Mohammed AlKaabi, Undersecretary of DoH, said: "We continue to strengthen our efforts to maintain the health and safety of all members of the community as it remains at the forefront of our priorities. We are committed to making COVID-19 vaccines available and accessible to all Abu Dhabi citizens and residents. The whole world has been fighting this pandemic for almost two years and vaccines are the most effective way in defeating it and returning to a normal quality of life."

The DoH has confirmed the Sinopharm Covid-19 vaccine for children aged 3 to 17 and the Pfizer-BioNTech Covid-19 vaccine for children aged 12 and above. Moreover, the Covid-19 booster vaccine will be administered to individuals who have received their second dose of the vaccine. Covid-19 vaccines are now available through walk-in at all SEHA vaccination centres across Abu Dhabi for senior citizens.

Furthermore, DoH urges parents in Abu Dhabi to get their children vaccinated to preserve the community's safety. The vaccine is the only indispensable way to restrain the spread of the Covid-19 pandemic, maximize the prevention of the virus and guarantee that lives and activities will return to normal.

DoH highlighted that the booster shot is devised to heighten and strengthen the body's immune response against several contagious strains.
