Mohamed Bin Zayed: Health and safety of students top priority in UAE

As UAE decided to reopen schools for certain grades, the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan corroborated that health and safety of students would remain the emirates’ utmost priority. For the Sunday’s resuming of classes, he offered students and teachers his best wishes for restarting the new academic session in school, after months of fighting the pandemic.

On Saturday evening, Sheikh Mohammed, took to Twitter and wrote: “We hope this new academic year will be defined by great achievements. Our education system proved to be dynamic and resilient last year, and we are confident it will go from strength to strength. The safety and well-being of students remain our top priorities”.

As per the new direction, issued by the UAE government, schools would be reopened across nation from Sunday onwards but only for the grades three to six. While students in rest of the grades in both public or private schools would stick to the distance education. Government said that they would open high school for pupils in four weeks' time, either in September or October, depending on the prevailing situation.

In Abu Dhabi primary schools would open from Sunday, where as in Sharjah schools would resume its functions in next two weeks.

In Dubai, authorities allowed all schools to open from Sunday, where as Private schools said that they would open their gates for their students on Tuesday. The authorities said that Private schools would be able to operate only after subjecting all school personnel to a (Covid 19) examination.
