Abu Dhabi updates entry protocols for vaccinated individuals

Abu Dhabi Emergency, Crisis and Disasters Committee has issued new protocols for entry to the emirate for citizens, residents and visitors the UAE. With from August 20, vaccinated individuals and participants in clinical can enter Abu Dhabi if they have a green travel pass. They need to show an active E or star icon on their Al Hosn app. A negative PCR test is required to show the E/star icon on the Al Hosn app and it active for 7 days.

As per the updated protocols, vaccinated individuals and participants in a clinical trial with a green pass will not be required to another negative PCR test entering Abu Dhabi. However, visitors from foreign countries are required to comply with relevant travel protocols put in by Abu Dhabi authorities.

Meanwhile, existing COVID-19 testing protocols will remain the same for unvaccinated individuals seeking to enter the emirate. As per safety protocols, a PCR test taken within 48 hours or a DPI test conducted within 24 hours is required for unvaccinated individuals to enter Abu Dhabi. They must the safety measures issued by the authorities with the aim of curbing the spread of the COVID-19 virus in the emirate.
