UAE: No deaths reported due to COVID-19 since March 8

In a major development in the ongoing fight against the pandemic, the UAE has reported no COVID-19 related deaths since March 8, 2022.

According to the latest COVID-19 statistics issued by the UAE authorities, the country is recovery positively from the pandemic impact, considering that there has been a significant decline in new infections. 

The UAE authorities further affirmed to continue its efforts to protect the health and safety of all community members in accordance with living standards and maintain the current achievements. 

The country was ranked 10th worldwide in terms of the number of PCR tests conducted since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic and 9th globally in terms of the lowest death rate. 

The same index awarded the UAE second rank globally in terms of the number of tests conducted per 1,000 people and fourth worldwide in the rate of fully vaccinated people per 100 individuals. Furthermore, the country emerged on top globally in community members receiving at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine.

The index released by Our World in Data also placed the UAE on top in the list of countries globally with a population of more than 1 million people in the address against the pandemic. 

Speaking about the achievements, the authorities urged all community members to continue their compliance with the safety measures, including continuing to wear face masks, practising social distancing, sanitising hands and avoiding crowded areas.

“Adhering to the precautionary measures and committing to social responsibility, as well as protecting the country’s achievements, are more important than ever, to protect the successes achieved amidst new variants," the authorities added. 

It is a social responsibility of the community to protect the successes achieved by the country and ensure the health and wellbeing of the public. 

On Saturday, the Health Ministry issued a statement stressing its aim to continue the expansion of the scope of PCR testing across the country to facilitate early detection of Coronavirus cases and ensure proactive measures to limit the impact.
