UAE must celebrate Eid Al Adha festivities responsibly

UAE community members play a crucial role in limiting COVID-19 spread during holiday season

As the holiday season is here, every community member in the UAE is urged to enjoy the festivities in a responsible manner.

On Sunday, the UAE authorities announced a four-day holiday on the occasion of Arafat Day and Eid Al Adha. All ministries, federal agencies, and the private sector will observe holidays from July 19-22, allowing residents to enjoy a six-day long break.

With the UAE authorities continuing to ensure efforts to combat the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic in the country, all residents have a crucial role to play in the process. Even as a majority of community members are vaccinated against COVID-19, everyone is urged to follow necessary safety protocols to limit the spread of the virus.

It is important for UAE residents to comply with the required protocols while hosting or attending family gatherings and other social events. Those coming in contact with a positive case must self-quarantine to protect others. Furthermore, all residents and citizens must wear face masks, maintain adequate social distancing, sanitise and wash hands regularly to minimise the spread of Coronavirus.

The authorities have called on all community members to cooperate and participate in the national vaccination campaign and efforts to combat the pandemic crisis in the country.
