UAE is providing a secure & healthy life for its people amid Delta variant surge

The UAE is on right track by being cautious amid surge of new Covid-19 variants like Delta and Delta Plus despite having best vaccine arsenal in the world. UAE has an edge in fighting the pandemic with its five vaccines - inactivated vaccine Sinopharm, the viral vector variety like AstraZeneca and Sputnik V, and mRNA vaccines like Pfizer and Moderna. The country’s flexible yet cautious progressive health strategy during the global health crisis has presented the results. The falling tally of Covid-19 cases in UAE is proof that country can adapt itself to any circumstances.

However, vaccine inequality continues to pose problems in the developing world as vaccines have not reached a majority of the population. In parts of Africa and Asia, reports of fake vaccines indicates that we still have a long way to go in fight against pandemic. Though UAE is secure from rising variants, it can’t afford to be lenient, at least not until 80 per cent of the global population are vaccinated. In this direction, UAE has remarkably created a secure bio-bubble for its population, that restricts traveling from countries with high infection rate and where the Delta variant is becoming dominant.

The UAE’s bio-bubble is a product of necessity during the pandemic crisis while the world lurches from one wave to another. The big question that lays ahead is: what next and for how long will this situation continue? That would depend on the virus and its mutating tendency. UAE is safely and comfortably placed with its residents secure from the virus.

In UAE, the virus doesn’t have much space to travel and mutate as it is world’s most vaccinated country, surpassing the Seychelles to which it has supplied the Sinopharm vaccine. At this time it is crucially important for residents to remain cautious and not import new cases and variants. Life in UAE is almost back to the new normal. People eagerly waiting to return to the country are advised to practice patience and await green signal from authorities.
