UAE: Etisalat launches Covid-19 vaccination drive

Last week, Etisalat rolled out a Covid-19 vaccination drive in coordination with the UAE’s Ministry of Health and Prevention. The company launched the inoculation drive to provide free vaccination doses to all its employees across the UAE. The vaccination camp was first set up on Wednesday at Etisalat’s Abu Dhabi headquarters Building A.

The Emirates telecom company, which made available Sinopharm vaccine to its employees at some of selected buildings, launched the initiative in line with UAE government’s plan to inoculate more than half of its population by the end of March.

The company said that its vaccination drive was optional in nature, but it has been encouraging its employees to go for the vaccine shot for their own protection and for the safety of their families. As per the reports, so far over 2,500 employees have expressed willingness to take the first dose of the vaccine.

Etisalat said that it had been implementing “multiple layers of safety measures to ensure the health and safety of customers and its employees.” The company in its statement emphasised that it was its priority to “work closely with all relevant stakeholders responsibly in keeping its customers, employees and communities safe. Etisalat puts business continuity plans in place to respond to disruptive incidents such as COVID-19, while protecting the health of its employees, ensuring connectivity and minimizing the impact of the delivery and quality of services.”
