UAE, Brazil Foreign Ministers reaffirm commitment to fight Corona

Foreign Ministers of UAE and Brazil yesterday discussed the need for increased cooperation between the two countries.

UAE’s Foreign Affairs Minister and International Cooperation, H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan and his Brazilian counterpart, Ernesto Araujo, discussed ways to advance mutual friendship and cooperation through a video conference call. Both ministers agreed to strengthen ties of friendship and increase collaboration in the areas of commerce, economic, investment, infrastructure, and food security.

The Ministers also discussed the ongoing COVID pandemic, and how the two countries are working to mitigate the virus infection.

Both Sheikh Abdullah and Araujo emphasized the need for cooperation and coordination between the UAE and Brazil to fight novel Coronavirus. The two countries can work to exchange expertise and collect data to develop ongoing research further and find new testing technology.

The ministers agreed that more international cooperation would help to deal with the pandemic better. The collaboration will also contain the adverse impact of the pandemic on health, humanitarianism, and economy.

The two ministers expressed their commitment to developing bilateral ties further. Sheikh Abdullah and Araujo thanked their country head for this growing bond between UAE and Brazil.

The Emirati minister said that they are confident that Brazil will be able to tide over the COVID crisis. He applauded his Brazilian counterpart for steps taken by the country to counter the corona pandemic.

Sheikh Abdullah emphasized that the strong ties of friendship and cooperation between the two countries will benefit both the UAE and Brazil.

The Emirati minister reaffirmed that UAE, under the leadership of the state head, remains committed to global efforts to mitigate the pandemic and focus on sustainable development.

Other top officials from both sides also attended the video call.
