UAE administers over 2 million doses of COVID-19 vaccine

The Ministry of Health and Prevention (MoHAP) on Tuesday announced that the UAE has administered more than two million COVID-19 vaccine doses since the launch of the national vaccination campaign. With this development, the total number of vaccine doses has reached 2,065,367 in the UAE, with an increase of vaccine distribution rate to 20.88 per 100 persons.

This achievement has come in line with the vision of the Health Ministry to administer the COVID-19 vaccine to all members of the society. To carry out this task, the Ministry has implemented various measures to ensure that the vaccine reaches all members of the community and they acquire the necessary immunity against the COVID-19 disease. The efforts are being taken to limit the number of cases and combat the spread of the COVID-19 virus in the country.

UAE's success in the global record rate of distribution of the vaccine per 100 people indicates the faith and confidence of the community in the National Vaccination Campaign, as it is witnessing a great response from all members of society.

Responding to the development, Abdul Rahman bin Mohammad bin Nasser Al Owais, Minister of Health and Prevention, asserted that this record number of COVID-19 vaccine doses in a short period reflects the splendid efforts of the UAE's leadership in managing the Coronavirus crisis. He further hailed the concerted efforts of the government, relevant institutions, and the frontline heroes who have been working towards providing the COVID-19 vaccine to all citizens and residents across various regions of the country.

In this regard, the Ministry urged all members of the community who are eligible to take the vaccine to participate in the nationwide campaign and get vaccinated at their nearest medical centres in various emirates of the country. Al Owais called on the public to support the nationwide campaign launched with the of vaccinating more than 50 percent of the UAE population within the first quarter of 2021.
