The Department of Health Abu Dhabi received a recognition award at Stevie awards Middle East and North Africa

Department of Health - Abu Dhabi wins 13 awards in 2021 Middle East & North Africa Stevie Awards

The Department of Health, Abu Dhabi, has received a lot of recognition in the recently concluded Stevie awards. The health regulator of the emirate along with Abdullah bin Mohammed Al Hamed, Chairman of the Department of Health – Abu Dhabi confirmed that the capital emirate was termed the winner of 13 awards in the 2021 Middle East & North Africa Stevie Award, which was sponsored by the RAK Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

There were various fields where Abu Dhabi shines but the top remained its innovative ways by which it handled the pandemic situation in the emirate. Apart from that also, the Department of Health won gold, silver, and bronze Stevie Awards.

But the priority remains for the covid-19 pandemic where Abu Dhabi placed itself at the forefront in the United Arab Emirates. The health department has won seven gold awards, which is the highest number of gold awards on the list. Apart from seven golds, it also won two silver and four bronze. 

The healthcare quality index ‘Muashir’ also revealed that Abu Dhabi performed excellently in handling the pandemic. The Stevie Awards also acknowledged the initiative saying that the senior citizens and individuals with chronic illness were properly handled by the Abu Dhabi health care department.

Other than healthcare services, Abdullah bin Mohammed Al Hamed, Chairman of the Department of Health also won two awards at the Stevie events. He won in the category of "Innovative Management in Government - Organizations with 100 or More Employees" and for "Government Hero of the Year” for fighting back the covid-19 pandemic.

“Abu Dhabi has led by example and attracted the attention of the world with its unique response to the COVID-19 pandemic,” said Al Hamed. He added that he is proud of the health department who worked so efficiently that it positioned itself stringy at the healthcare map of the world. 

He further added that despite the challenges that the health department faced during the covid-19 pandemic, it continued to tackle it accordingly. They kept the community health at the top and ensured that all the services are being offered on a regular basis. “I dedicate these awards to everyone who has contributed towards the development and progress of Abu Dhabi," he added.

For this event, more than 400 nominations were filed from various organizations across the middle east and north African region. The categories include Award for Excellence in Innovation in Products & Services, Award for Innovative Management, and Award for Innovation in Corporate Websites, among many others.

There were more than 60 executives from all around the world who judged the nominations on the basis of various parameters. The Stevie Awards are the only award to recognize innovation at the workplace in 17 nations in the MENA region. This is a huge achievement for Abu Dhabi. These awards will be presented to winners through a virtual ceremony which is to be held on June 2 this year.
